嫦娥五号（Change-5）的飞行任务是中国航空史上最复杂的任务之一，也是40多年来世界上首次进行月球采样任务（moon sampling mission）。
嫦娥五号探测器于11月24日发射升空，由轨道器（orbiter），着陆器（lander），上升器（ascender）和返回器（returner）组成，其着陆器上升器组合（lander-ascender combination）12月1日在月球的近地点，月球上最的月海风暴洋（Ocean of Storms）的吕姆克山北部着陆。
样品收集并密封后，上升器（ascender）于12月3日从月球表面（lunar surface）起飞返回。
接下来，轨道器返回器组合（orbiter-returner）将与上升器分离，并等待时机开始返回地球。

Change-5s mission is one of the most complicated in Chinese aerospace history, as well as the worlds first moon sampling mission in more than 40 years.
The Change-5 probe, comprising an orbiter, a lander, an ascender and a returner, was launched on November 24, and its lander-ascender combination touched down on the north of the Mons Rumker in Oceanus Procellarum, also known as the Ocean of Storms, on the near side of the moon on December 1.
After the samples were collected and sealed, the ascender took off from the lunar surface on December 3.
The orbiter-returner will next separate from the ascender, and wait for the right time to start its journey back to Earth.
