《文史通义》《文史通义》中国清代论述文史的著作。章学诚撰。章氏从乾隆三十六年(1771）开始撰写，直至嘉庆六年（1801）去世时尚未写完，历时30年。共8卷，分内外篇。内篇5卷，外篇3卷。该书远承先秦诸子学术思想，近承明末清初进步思想家的经世致用传统，纵论文史，创见迭出，成一家言。于史学理论贡献尤多。提出阐明六经皆史之旨，反对空谈义理和繁琐考据，强调经世致用。主张历史学家除具有才、学、识外，还必有史德，论文亦有文德，撰写史书应通古今之变，成一家之言。把方志提高到与国史同等重要的地位，创立一套修志义例和理论，使方志理论更趋完备。此外，该书对学术、文学、哲学的一系列基本问题的论述多有独到见解，被梁启超称为乾嘉后思想解放之源泉。作者在逝世前嘱萧山王宗炎代为校定，今流传的《章氏遗书》即刘承平依王氏编目补订刊刻。最早的刊本为道光十二年(1832)在开封的刻本，即大梁本。1956年出版了新的标点排印本。1985年出版1948年叶瑛的《文史通义校注》11卷，除内外篇8卷外，还附章学诚所著《校雠通义》3卷。其主要内容和大梁本同，校勘文字，注释词义，便于初学者阅读。《文史通义》书影
