美加墨自由贸易区美加墨自由贸易区美加墨自由贸易区即北美自由贸易区。为了加强联合，对抗来自欧洲统一大市场及日本的挑战，美国、加拿大、墨西哥三国于1991年6月12日起商讨建立北美自由贸易区问题，以最终实现三国内资本、商品和劳务的自由流动。19蛇年8月12日，三国就北美自由贸易协定文本最终达成了协议，并于12月17日由三国政府首脑正式签署了这一协议，从1994年1月1日起，自由贸易区便宣告形成。北美自由贸易协定的主要内容包括:三国间将在内逐步取消上万种商品的关税和诸多关税壁垒，并废除目前实行的进口配额和许可证制度;开放墨西哥的银行、电信、保险及证券业，允许美国和加拿大商人加入竞争和投资.包括建立全资子公司，三国同意对所有北美地区的金融公司给予国民待遇;采取措施防止亚洲和欧洲一些公司为逃避美国关税而将商品经由墨西哥运往美国，三国就原产地间题做了严格的规定，以防止非缔约国利用自由贸易协定在一个缔约国内设厂，再把本国产品在这些工厂内加工而享受免税待遇进入另外一个缔约国;设二一个专门委员会以解决涉及环保标准的商业纠纷:保护版权、专利权及商标权等。
