[英文缩写]：AIP[英文]：air-independent propulsion[解释]：现有的常规动力潜艇,在水面航行时,用些油机作动力,同时给蓄电池充电；在水下航行时用蓄电池提供动力。柴油机工作需从空气中吸取氧气,潜艇因此要经常浮 出水面,不利于隐蔽。为了克服这一缺点,现已研制成无需从空气中获取氧气的潜艇常规动力装置,这就是所谓 不依赖空气的动力装置,简称AIP系统。目前AIP系统还只是作为常规潜艇的辅助动力装置,可使潜艇的潜航时间 增加5～7倍。随着AIP技术的进一步成熟,有可能取代柴电推进系统成为常规潜艇的主动力源。正在研制和试用 的AIP系统有：“斯特林”发动机“燃料电池、闭式循环柴油机和闭式循环蒸汽轮机。“斯特林”发动机是闭式 循环工作的外燃式发动机,以柴油作燃料,液氧作氧化剂 ,燃烧生成的热连续供给闭路系统中的工作气体（如氦气 ）带动螺旋桨。瑞典在新建造的“哥德兰”级潜艇上加装此种发动机,首艇“哥德兰”号已于1995年7月开始海 上试航。在两台功率各为75千瓦的“斯特林”发动机的推进下,该艇可以5节的速度在水下连续航行14天。为提 高航速,瑞典还在研制功率达到600千瓦的斯特林发动机。燃料电池是将燃料的化学能直转换为电能的装置,其 效率可达60％,如果再加上热能综合利用,其系统效率可提高到70％～80％。这是燃料电池的一个突出优点。燃料 电池的另一个优点是工作时噪声低。1988年,德国将燃料电池装在一艘205级潜艇上,已进行9个月的海上试验,并 决定在新建的212级首批三艘潜艇上加装燃料电池作为辅助动力源,首艇计划于服役。闭式循环柴油机是通 过控制普通柴油机的进排气实现闭式循环,在进气中含有一定量的柴油和氧气,喷入适量的惰性气体（如氩气）,废 所中的二氧化碳经吸收装置溶入海水排到艇外,其余废气进入系统再循环。德国一家造船厂设计的闭环柴油机 ,可以使TR-300小型潜艇的水下续航力达2000海里,而蓄电池一次充电只能航行45海里。闭式蒸汽轮机是法国一家 公司研制的AIP系统,以甲醇作燃料、液氧作氧化剂,以水作循环工质,系统的优点是可靠性高、噪声低。
